Why is local SEO a separate job?
For searches like "air conditioning service Ankara," "dental clinic in Çankaya" or "car inspection near me," Google shows map results first. These results are determined by different rules than classic website rankings: how close the business is to the person searching, how complete the profile is, and how well known and trustworthy the business appears.
So even if you have an excellent website, you may not appear in map results if your Google Business Profile is incomplete. The reverse is also true: a well-managed profile can bring in a lot of calls even with a simple website.
Google Business Profile — the most neglected area
The profile is your business card that appears on Google Maps and in search results. The gaps we see most often:
- Wrong or outdated opening hours
- A primary category that is too generic (e.g. just "Company")
- An empty services list
- Photos that have not been updated in years
- Reviews that never get a reply
- An old address still on the profile after a move
You should always be the owner of the profile. We are added as a manager; even if our working relationship ends, the profile stays with you.
Branch and service area pages
If you have more than one branch, each should have its own page with its own address, phone number, opening hours and map. If you work from a single address and serve surrounding provinces, instead of churning out hollow "city name + service" pages for every province, we build pages that give genuinely region-specific information: jobs you have completed in that region, delivery times, conditions specific to the area.
Consistent business information
Having your name, address and phone number (NAP for short) exactly the same on your website, business profile, social accounts and industry directories builds trust with both Google and AI systems. Even small differences like "Çankaya/Ankara" versus "Ankara, Çankaya" can cause confusion.
Review management
We suggest a simple routine for asking for reviews: after a job is delivered, send a short message with a direct link to leave a review. It is important to respond to negative reviews calmly, with a focus on solutions and without including any personal data. Buying fake reviews, on the other hand, breaks the rules and can get your profile suspended.
Local SEO checklist
- Is the profile verified and owned by your company?
- Are the primary and secondary categories correct?
- Are the services, opening hours and holiday hours up to date?
- Does the site have a separate page and a LocalBusiness schema for each branch?
- Is the NAP information identical on all platforms?
- Have recent reviews been answered?
Local SEO is part of our SEO and GEO service. In industries that work with local customers, such as healthcare and clinics and automotive and service, it is one of the first things to get done.
Frequently asked questions
Can we serve customers without showing our address?
Yes. Businesses that go to their customers can hide their address and define a service area instead.
Does opening virtual offices in other cities help?
We do not recommend it. Google can detect addresses that are not real and suspend the profile.
When will we climb in the map results?
The effect of cleaning up the profile usually shows within a few weeks; reviews and recognition build up over time.
