What is GEO?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the work of increasing your brand's visibility in systems that generate answers, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google's AI Overviews. In classic search, the user sees ten links and picks one. In an AI answer, there is usually a single summary and a few sources. Being inside that summary or not makes a big difference.
These systems gather information from their training data and from live web searches. That is why it is decisive that your site provides clear, consistent and quotable information, and that your name appears with the same information on other trustworthy sites as well.
Measure first — how are you mentioned today?
We start by preparing a list of realistic questions your customers might ask. For a company that makes automotive service software, for example, they could be:
- "Can you recommend work order software for auto repair shops?"
- "Which companies in Türkiye make service tracking software?"
- "What does [your company name] do, and is it reliable?"
We ask these questions to different AI systems at regular intervals and record whether you are mentioned, whether the information is correct and which sources the answers rely on. A wrong founding year, the address of a branch that has closed, or a service you no longer offer are common errors.
Structured data
Structured data means labeling the information on your page in a format that machines understand unambiguously (Schema.org markup). Writing "we were founded in Ankara" on the page is enough for a person; with the Organization schema, the address, phone number, founding year and social accounts become indisputable for a machine too.
| Schema type | Where it is used |
|---|---|
| Organization / LocalBusiness | Home page, contact |
| Service | Service pages |
| Product | Product and e-commerce pages |
| FAQPage | Frequently asked questions sections |
| Article / BlogPosting | Blog posts |
| BreadcrumbList | All pages |
GEO checklist
- Is your company information exactly the same on your site, your Google Business Profile and directories?
- Are there paragraphs that clearly define your services in a single sentence?
- Are frequently asked questions written with short, direct answers?
- Is the structured data complete and error-free?
- Has the decision to allow or block AI crawlers in robots.txt been made deliberately?
- Does your name appear in industry publications, association listings and supplier lists?
An honest note
GEO is a new field and the rules keep changing. Proposals such as llms.txt are not yet a widely accepted standard. No team can guarantee that an AI system will definitely recommend you. We move forward by measuring, in small steps, and with reporting.
This work is part of our SEO and GEO service and is built on a solid technical SEO audit.
Frequently asked questions
AI gives wrong information about us. Can you fix it?
Direct intervention is not possible, but once we correct the sources these systems draw on (your site, your business profile, directories), the answers get updated over time.
Should we block AI crawlers?
That is a business decision. If you block them, your content is protected, but your chances of appearing in answers go down. We weigh the pros and cons together.
Does GEO make sense for small companies?
Yes. Especially if you work in a specific niche or region, there is less competition and accurate information can take effect quickly.
