Why are hosting and maintenance a job of their own?
Most companies don't know where their website is hosted, whose name the domain is registered under, or when the last backup was taken. These details seem unimportant until something goes wrong. Then one morning the site won't load, the SSL certificate has expired, or someone has slipped malicious code in through an outdated plugin.
Hosting and maintenance are all the tasks that keep your site quietly working in the background: the server, SSL, backups, updates, security monitoring, performance and the domain. Each one looks small on its own, but when one of them fails, the whole site suffers. At Globya we bring them together under a single responsibility, so when something goes wrong you know exactly who to call.
Web hosting and servers — your site's home
Hosting is the server where your site's files and database live. Choosing between shared hosting, a virtual private server (VPS) or a dedicated server depends on your traffic, the software the site runs on and your security needs. A corporate brochure site and a busy e-commerce store don't need the same thing.
When choosing a server, disk space and price are only part of the picture. Server location, backup policy, how current the PHP and database versions are, and access to real support all matter too. If your current hosting is good enough, we won't suggest moving; if it falls short, we plan a migration with no downtime.

Domain and SSL — your identity and your padlock
Your domain (for example yourcompany.com.tr) is your company's digital address, and it should always be registered in your company's name. In practice we often find domains still registered to a former employee or to an agency from years ago. Tracking expiry dates, renewals, DNS records and ownership details is part of maintenance.
An SSL certificate puts the padlock in the browser bar and encrypts data between the visitor and your site. When a certificate expires, visitors see a big security warning and your forms effectively stop working. We manage certificates with automatic renewal and monitoring.

Backups — being able to go back on a bad day
A backup is only a backup if you can restore it. We take regular backups, store files and the database separately in a location other than the server your site runs on, and test restores at set intervals. That way, after a bad update, a deleted page or an attack, we can bring the site back to its last known good state.

Updates and security monitoring
Content management systems, plugins and server software all need regular updates. Unpatched software leaves the door open to attackers through known vulnerabilities. On the other hand, applying every update blindly can also break a site. That's why we always take a backup first and, where possible, test updates in a staging environment before applying them.
Security monitoring covers uptime checks, tracking suspicious file changes, limiting failed login attempts and reviewing who has access to the admin panel. If your site collects personal data, these measures are also required for KVKK compliance (KVKK is Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law).

Performance — a site that loads fast
A slow website drives away both visitors and search engines. As part of maintenance we regularly review image sizes, caching, database queries and unnecessary plugins. Speed is also the foundation of SEO and AI visibility work.
Performance doesn't just depend on the initial setup; it degrades over time. Large images added over the years, piled-up form entries, unused plugins and outdated software gradually weigh a site down. So we repeat speed tests at regular intervals, keep a close eye on load times on mobile phones, and when we see a drop, we explain the cause plainly in our report.
How does a maintenance contract work?
We treat maintenance as an ongoing service, not a one-off fix. The contract spells out exactly what's included: backup frequency, update schedule, monitoring, first response when something breaks, small content changes and a short monthly status report. Anything outside that scope, such as new page designs or new features, is planned separately.
The goal of maintenance is less about reacting fast when problems appear and more about making sure they don't appear in the first place.
We can take over maintenance even if we didn't build your site. We start by reviewing where things stand and share the risks in a plain-language report. Scope and pricing are set out in a written proposal after the discovery call. We can also look after your business email, which runs on the same server and domain.

Frequently asked questions
Our site is hosted with another provider. Can you still maintain it?
Yes. Your hosting provider can stay the same; with admin access we take on maintenance, updates and backups. If a move is needed, we recommend it and explain why.
How can we find out whose name our domain is registered under?
You can check through your registrar's control panel or a domain lookup (WHOIS). We check this during our first review and, if needed, plan the transfer of the domain to your company.
What happens if the site goes down?
Our monitoring system detects the outage and we first identify the cause. If necessary, we restore from the last good backup, then apply a permanent fix.
Is a maintenance contract mandatory?
No. But when updates and backups aren't done regularly, risk builds up, so we recommend one for any site that will stay online for the long term.
